The Mt. Diablo Silverado Council strives to provide excellent activities for the youth of the council.
The council's Annual Recognition Dinner, chaired by Steve Phillips, is held each year to recognize outstanding volunteers. This year's dinner was held on Friday, February 6th, 2009, at the Walnut Creek Marriott Hotel.
The 10th Annual Mt. Diablo Silverado Pinewood Derby Championship is coming to the Blackhawk Auto Museum in Danville on April 25th, 2009! All Cubs from within the Council are invited to participate. There will be racing, a design competition & great food. And this year, for the firs time ever, there is an Open Class for Boy Scouts and Adults! During the event the whole family can tour the Blackhawk Museum's magnificent auto collection and the fabulous exhibits. There will be tons of neat stuff to see and do! Wear your Scout uniform and get in free.
When a boy becomes a member of the Boy Scouts of America, no matter at what age, one of the first questions is "How soon can I go camping?" Cub Scout and Webelos Scout Family camping is a council organized, theme-oriented overnight camping program. It operates for at least two nights and is conducted under certified leadership at a camp approved by the council.
Each district in the council holds its own Day Camp, so join us for a week that you will not soon forget. For those brave enough to come here, you will discover the all the fun to be had. Don't be caught missing out on Cub Scout Day Camp!
Each year, the Las Aguilas de Diablo put on a dinner to recognize those young men and women who have attained their Eagle Scout, Silver Award, or Quartermaster Awards. It takes a great deal of effort to achieve these impressive accomplishments.
Come join us for the 4th Annual Cub Scout Family Flight Day! All Cub Scouts in the Council and their families and friends are invited. There will be kite flying, glider racing, and many other fun events for the whole family!
Daily activities include archery, scuba, buckskin games, sailing, kayaking, swimming, bikeathlon, confidence course, canoeing, fishing, rafting, snorkeling, trap shooting, fishing, motocross, pioneering, conservation programs, rappelling towers, 5K run, orienteering, athletic contests and much more.
As we begin to prepare for the 100th Anniversary of the Boy Scouts of America one of the ways we can show that Scouts care about their community and for those who are less fortunate is through the Scouting for Food collection. Our goal this year, with the efforts of all the Boy Scout Councils in the Bay Area working together, is to collect One Million Cans of Food between November 21, 2009 and November 20, 2010.
The Webel-o-ree is a fun overnight outing for Webelos & their parents to enjoy. While working with Boy Scout patrols, Webelos may earn Webelos activity pins.
Webelos Weekend is the portal into Boy Scout resident camping. Both weekends are held at Camp Wolfeboro, the Mt. Diablo Silverado Council Boy Scout Camp located in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. It is an opportunity to give your Webelos a chance to see what Boy Scout summer camp is like.
