FOS 2012

Friends of Scouting (FOS) is the largest fundraiser in support of Scouting in the Mt. Diablo Silverado Council. The campaign runs from January through June each year and every family is asked to participate with a suggested contribution of $200. This money helps to operate the Scouting program to serve over 14,000 youth in the Mt. Diablo Silverado Council.

Funding provides affordable camping experiences for Cubs and Scouts; supports training programs; support and recruiting materials for Packs and Troops; Accident and Liability Insurance; the Council Service Center;  the support staff that maintain registration; advancement and camping records; a team of professionally trained staff that leads the way in recruiting, training, and promoting Scouting activities; and more.

Please make sure your Unit FOS Chair attends your District FOS kick-off in January to pick-up Unit FOS packets and to receive training and support to ensure a successful unit FOS campaign. Please contact your District FOS Chair or District Executive for your kick-off date.
