Roundtable is scheduled for the first Thursday of the month, 7:30pm at 2369 Overlook Drive, Walnut Creek, at th Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Overlook Chapel, following the Commissioner's Meeting.

Are You New To the Scouting Program?

Fast Start Training is available online or by using a video.

Fast Start training is the first step for any new volunteer and is to be delivered immediately after a new leader registers and before he or she meets with any youth member.

All volunteers should also take Youth Protection Training On-Line before beginning any activities with any youth.

Note: The first time you go to the new BSA training management site from our training page, you will need to create an account for yourself. (Also: we have two "fast track" DVDs here at the office you can borrow from Jorge Regan, the Iron Horse District Executive.)

New Leader Essentials

New Leader Essentials is scheduled for Saturday March 29th, 2008. Registration will begin at 730 am. Classes will start at 800 AM and end at 500 PM. The class will be held at Our Saviors Lutheran Church at 1035 Carol Lane, Lafayette, CA 94549. You can also contact Kimberly Uhlenberg at (925)917-9053

Position Specific Training for Scoutmasters, Assistant Scoutmasters, venturing Advisors, and the Troop Committee is scheduled for Saturday March 29th, 2008. Registration will begin at 730 am. Classes will start at 800 AM and end at 330 PM. The class will be held at Our Saviors Lutheran Church at 1035 Carol Lane, Lafayette, CA 94549. Cub Scout Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO) Training will be held on Saturday May 17th, 2008 from 830AM to 430PM. Registration is limited to the first 36 participants. The training will be held at Camp Herms. For more information contact Kimberly Uhlenberg at (925)917-9053

Outdoor Skills for Webelos Leaders is scheduled to run from 430PM Staurday May 17th, 2008 to NOON Sunday, May 18th, 2008. Registration is limited. The training will be held at Camp Herms. For more information contact Kimberly Uhlenberg at (925)917-9053

Outdoor Leader Skills Training for Scoutmasters and Assistant Scoutmasters will be held from 730AM Saturday, May 17th, 2008 to 430PM Sunday, May 18th, 2008. Popcorn is only a few months away. Get ready to sell! Sell! SELL!

This year, Iron Horse will have a Popcorn kickoff to discuss the benefits of selling pocorn, as well as to address any questions from the 2007 year! More information will come out across the Iron Horse Email List. And of course, check back here periodically for updates and more information.
