In 1909, William D. Boyce was traveling through the foggy streets of England and lost his way. A lone scout came out through the fog and helped Mr. Boyce find his way back to his hotel. Mr. Boyce attempted to tip the scout, but the scout refused saying that he was merely doing his duty as a Boy Scout.
Mr. Boyce was so impressed by the scouts actions, that he returned to the United States and in 1910 formed the Boy Scouts of America. Since then, the Boy Scouts of America has guided more than 100 million Americans in the principles of the Scout Oath and Law.
