Ocean Experience
Kayaking or other paddlesports on the ocean and saltwater bays. The Flatwater Experience is REQUIRED before attempting the Ocean Experience. Scout units are not expected to provide their own kayaks, wet suits, etc., so this experience is best arranged with a professional guide company.
Participants should learn and practice the techniques of getting into and out of a kayak, proper equipment and handling, using a double-ended paddle, and recovering from rolls.
