Venturing Officer Association

 

The Venturing Officers Association was created in 2008, and is a meeting of all the Venture Crew officers in the council. The Venturing Officers Association holds elections for the Council Venturing officers, who are responsible for the Venturing program on a Council level.

 

Meetings

 

The Venturing Officer Association meeting the last Wednesday of every odd month at 7PM at the Council Service Center. At these meetings, the Venturing Officer Association discuses the Council Wide Venturing event, Venturing awards, necessary training's, and much, much more. To be sure that your crew knows what is going on on a Council, Regional, and National level, make you you are represented at these meetings.

 

Our next few meetings are:

September 30th

November 18th (due to thanksgiving this meeting has been moved up a week)

January 27th

March 31st

May 26th

 

Officer Elections

 

The term of the officers for the Venturing Officer Association runs from January 1st to December 31st every year. The elected positions are: President, Vice-President of Administration, Vice-President of Program, Vice-President of Communications, Secretary and Treasurer. These officers are responsible for the Venturing program on the Council level, including Venturing training, and the annual Council Wide Venturing event. The president also represents the Council at all Venturing Area, Regional and National meetings and events.

 

Elections for the 2010 officers will be taking place at our September meeting. This meeting will be taking place at 7PM on September 30th at the Council Service Center (800 Ellinwood Way, Pleasant Hill, CA 94523).

Venture Survivor

 

This year's Council wide Venturing event was a huge success. The crews participated in shooting climbing and swimming, while earning points to become this years "Crew of the Year". All the participants also completed most of there Climbing, Wilderness Survival, and Shooting sports requirement for the R anger Award. Keep on the look out for information on next year's Venturing event.
