The Following information is for LEAD 2010 which has passed. It is provided here for your convenience. More information for LEAD 2011 will be posted as it becomes available.
Have you made the commitment to be a helpful and enthusiastic youth leader? Yes you did through the Boy Scouts of America. You probably went through basic leader training and since then many of you have taken other helpful supplemental training courses. And there are many among you who have experienced Wood Badge for the 21st Century. Moreover, your time on the job with Scouts gave you valuable insights.
This is the year that we celebrate 100 years of Scouting. The Leader Education and Discovery 2010 conference brings hundreds of Scouters from all branches together for one day under one location. It is a day of looking, listening, tasting, smelling, trying, touching, figuring out, asking questions, working with your hands and getting new ideas from one another.
We all know that service is one of our core values. In our centennial year, come tell us your story of service through Scouting. I’m sure you have experienced the rewards and memories of working, hiking, camping and playing with our Scouts. No doubt, every one of you has a fond memory that will last a lifetime.
Look over the broad, exciting list of courses that’s offered. There’s something for everyone. Check the Mt. Diablo Silverado Council’s online website and register today.
You don’t want to miss this one. The skills and knowledge that you gain on this day, passed down to your Scouts, will help create a stronger community for the next 100 years. Come join us.
Yours in Scouting,
Lindy Marzo
